People are still reading Living With Ghosts -- which delights me. And this review made me very happy indeed this morning.
Awards and Mountains and Horus, Oh My!
Oct. 5th, 2010 09:32 amI'm back. And reeling. Milford and Provence were both excellent and I'll blog more about them later. But first, as some of you have heard, while I was away, I won an award. The Sydney J Bounds Award for Best Newcomer, to be precise, a juried award administered by the British Fantasy Society, and formerly called the Icarus Award. In the past it's been won by Joe Hill, Nancy Collins, Maggie Furey, Poppy Z Brite and Scott Lynch and I am gobsmacked to be in such company. (The jury are clearly mad, but wonderful and I am deeply humbled and grateful that they liked Living With Ghosts so much.) I was in Wales over Fantasy Con, but
desperance kindly accepted for me and told the world, and was, as ever, a gentleman, scholar and all-round Good Chap. (He denies being any kind of acrobat, which he subcontracts to his cats.)
He passed the statuette on to me just before we set off for Provence and Horus promptly sat on it. So Chaz took pictures, which he has kindly let me use here:
