Only ones was I called to duty to pet a cat tummy. In fact, if I stopped, Bummer got mad and complained at me. She was in labor with her kittens at the time, and my kneading her tummy clearly made her feel better. (That meant crouching under the sink in a minuscule bathroom annex for upwards of three hours.)
that was clearly necessary assistance. Moon and Horus both like to have their tummies rubbed, but Ish regards any more towards his as an invitation for him to play with your hand -- with all claws out.
When my Homily was having her kittens, she utterly insisted that I sit beside the box and hold her paw. That was all, but truly. When I left her after kitten #2 - just to go and get a drink, to see me through - she got out of the box and followed me, complaining all the while, with kitten #3 already starting to show. I hasted her back, she lay down and wafted her paw at me, I took hold, and she went back to business...
Bummer wanted her tummy rubbed until the kittens began to show. Then, just like Homily, she wanted us there. (Picture three people squished into a tiny bathroom under a stairway, with sink and toilet only.) She turned away to actually produce the kittens, but when each was clean to her satisfaction, she'd flip over and offer the kitten to us. Then turn away for the next.
Yes! Each morning, she brought the kittens upstairs one by one and dropped them on my bed. As I frequently got in from work at about three a.m. in those days, that six a.m. call for babysitting did not inspire me with as much enthusiasm as it might have . . .)
A breeder told me once that one of her cats woke her at about 2 a.m. by bringing in the kittens to be looked after. Mother cat had had enough, apparently, and required the sitter. They are remarkable creatures.
A trap! I would totally try to pet that tummy... Makes me very glad both my cats are easy-going and will let you touch any part of them. (Except sometimes back paws. But even then they just pull away, they don't bite or scratch.)
Positioning of the chair made him look at bit like a cat-onna-stick for a moment there. His body language makes me think he is soaring over the mere mortals down on the ground.
Java loves having her tummy rubbed so much that even if you start off stroking her back she rolls round till you're unavoidably rubbing tummy. Which is lovely as she's SO FAT it's like a big soft panada toy :)
Mooncat is a very Up sort of cat, and has managed to dust the ceiling once or twice. (She likes to sit on things that are very close to the ceiling, and she can really jump.)
Ish is beautiful! Is he a burmese? (I may have asked you before). He reminds me of my Griff, a chocolate burmese. Griff, however, loves his belly being rubbed. I just have to share the pictures that reminded me of Ish...
What a beautiful boy! And what a lovely tummy. Ish is a Burmese sub-variety, an Asian (mix of Burmese and Chinchilla). He has the Burmese intelligence and friendliness, I have to say. Out of the three, he's both the most dominant and the soppiest.
