A question for the hive mind
I need a webcam in the utility room.
How on earth did Ish manage to bring a fully adult squirrel with rigor mortis in through the cat flap?
(I'm not going to speculate on how it died, other than that it had no visible wounds or injuries. He clearly found it somewhere. He didn't get to eat it: I removed it promptly.)
The marquis is a lot better today. he gave in and talked to a doctor, who decided that any flu had gone and the problem was a chest infection. He now has antibiotics and is a lot happier.

I'm glad the marquis is feeling better--thank goodness he went to the doctor after all and got those antibiotics.

The funny thing is that, apparently like your present, they turn up in the middle of the carpet while everyone is around, and no-one sees the cat flap part. I suspect Siamese ingenuity.
Glad to hear the marquis is feeling better - the MIB seems to have cheered up too.

Amazing what one can do when determined.

All our other cats have tended to eat their kills without bringing them into the house. I think it's because they're indoor-outdoor cats of, shall we say, mixed ancestry, and much closer to feral than the purebreds.

We had a cat who used to bring in presents for the dog. They usually alive... Then there was the workmate whose half Siamese boy (Cassius) brought in a dead pigeon and dropped it behind the radiator.

My friend's cat used to bring home strings of sausages, pork pies, even a full roast chicken once.
Nothing with rigor mortis, though. That's impressive.

One day we stood laughing so hard we had to hold onto each other as Tal, my black Burmese X, tried to drag her frozen turkey off her stove and down her hallway to the door.. The turkey was huge ... We did rescue it and it wasn't damaged any as still in its wrapper at that point as she had just put it out and come to talk to me.
Glad to hear the Marquis is feeling a lot better.
I am trying not to let my 2nd dose of holiday flu turn into bronchitis but difficult as with the El Nina storms here and my damp carpets. I have 1 ft by 6 ft of soaking carpets all at the outer edge of my room again. Rain is coming in at ground level so no stopping it for now and the storms are due here till Monday next. :(
The roof is now covered with a stapled down tarp and the windows with plastic sheet again... but I am still getting it coming in windows to a lesser degree. Least the ceiling isn't still leaking on me!

The damp sounds infuriating. Surely the landlord should be fixing this for you? I very much hope it dries out soon and you stay healthy.
