It has come to my attention that LX Con will be my very first convention as a Real Pro with the book out there and all. I am therefore in need, dear f'list, of your collective wisdom. How, in your opinion, should I conduct myself?

Indeed - option two seems to be distressingly back-to-front. Authors buying more than their shares of the drinks? What, which planet is this? Authors can't afford to do that, the per-copy royalty wouldn't begin to cover it.

(With the exception of PTerry, who can, and does.)

An occasional smug grin would be permissible.

I'm under the impression that it's supposed to be automatic. On the other hand, it wouldn't be the first time there's been a glitch in the system.

Hmm, possible. Very possible, though given the number of authors who have cats, you'd have thought this would have been planned for.

We could ask desperance, but knowing his cats, he's probably in the dark too.

Perhaps you should try checking Mooncat's foodbowl? Might there be a small fandom hidden there?

Mooncat had fans before I was even thinking about publication again, so I may have to steal some of hers.
