Eight things that annoy me.
1) Really stupid parking. For instance, pulling in across the mouth of the road I live in to make a phone call, making it impossible for anyone to get in or out of the road. (This happens surprisingly often.)
2) UKIP. For the non-Britons, this is the UK Independence Party, a bunch of right wing, often racist, often sexist people who hate foreigners, want to go back to the 1930s and believe that the rich are always right.
3) Politicians on the radio.
4) The fact that I am forever losing my lipsalve and ending up rummaging frantically in my back (a daily occurrence, see day 2).
5) That no-one has yet invented the teleporter, and so I don't see those of my friends who live far away as often as I'd like.
6) Deliberate selfishness and cruelty that harms others.
7) The kyriarchy.
8) My own flakiness.

I agree on the teleporter part. But I am itching to go somewhere. Maybe I should book a trip to London over Easter/ early April. Though I am travelling a lot this year.

I accidentally bought a lip-salve on an elastic necklace for skiing last year. It's surprisingly handy.

UK Independence Party

Independence from what?

Their sole real policy is to take the UK out of the European Union. They are anti-immigration and anti-foreigner: nasty jingoists, basically, and while the official party line is that they are not in any way racist, many of their members seem to have no problem expressing racist ideas regularly. I dislike them hugely.

There are times when I think that chatelaines should make a come-back (though presumably only in low-crime societies). The best ones of course could be customised, so you could have a nice silver lip-salve holder that you would never lose. Or you could use those little Japanese silk pouches.

I was just thinking about a modern version, made of some of the things that I saw in Kyoto, where you can buy little pouches and cases of absolutely everything. A nice silk cord for the belt, and the various items all in their own silk pouch or case hung by their cords from a large key-ring-like affair, that would work. And would look very elegant and decorative too.
