Three things that make a post

In the first, I obeyed the marquis and [livejournal.com profile] desperance and asked how nice editor was getting on with the new MS. And she was neither annoyed no offended, and will be getting to it soon.

In the second, I had really frightening post this morning from the non-fiction publisher, which I may write about in a locked post later. Right now, I'm too busy being scared and locked back in time.

But, in the third, this lovely thoughtful article made me feel that there are also good things in the world, and I wish Juliet, its author, all the best. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/aug/11/become-a-woman-juliet

Thanks ever so much for that link. Thought-provoking...

Very thought-provoking, and very human, I thought.

If we share an editor, reading tends to get done when pub date is pressing.

It's an optioned book, rather than a contracted one.

Ah, but Optioned for Sheila is the same. :) Virtually. I have to wait, look at how long it took to read mine then get it out. :( around 18 months to 2 years.

Working hard right now on plot mechanics, which I actually do not like doing that much.. been so long since I did a plot, lol, I had to look up the last one to see how much detail I put into my mind maps before exporting them to a text file. Answer, a lot more than I have so far... yet I have a good idea of where this novel is going already...

What an interesting article! It would be an interesting thought-experiment too. How much of oneself is bound up in one's name? If you didn't know me in real life, would you have any idea about my personality from my LJ alone?

I don't think I have anything useful to offer for the fear. Very sorry. I only know to drown that sort of thing in action, which may not be something available to you at the moment.

Gentle hugs.
