An appeal

It occurs to me that I've been slacking rather with this blog recently, and mainly just posting metrics. Because, you see, I don't really know what to post about. My life just isn't that interesting. So: what would you lot out there like me to write about? My rant about the excessive amount of chocolate in fandom and books? Why I have so many skirts? What music I listen to? Places I've visited, books I've read... Even that messy Celtic history stuff? The humidity is eating my brain and I need some suggestions.

Yes, why do you have so many skirts? And is the moon, in fact, a green cheese? And does that mean a cheese that is not ripe yet, and so still very white, or does that mean, you know, green like a green thing.

... and how many wardrobes (or chests of drawers or whatever) do the skirts need to house them all?

All of the above please!

There is chocolate in books ? Doesn't it melt?

[identity profile] athenais.livejournal.com 2010-06-25 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, all of that, especially the Celtic history stuff. Stories of your childhood. Entry points for anyone who wants to start watching Hong Kong martial arts films. What do you love most about living in Cambridge? Where have you traveled to and what stories do you have from those travels?

[identity profile] joycemocha.livejournal.com 2010-06-25 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
All of these. Rants are always appreciated.
(wink, grin)

Definitely, what's with all the skirts; do you ever wear trousers and anything you care to write about Celtic history.

[identity profile] slweippert.livejournal.com 2010-06-25 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm interested in some of your characters. Would you be interested in talking/ranting/explaining/babbling about them?

and shouldn't you be watching wimbledon ?

It's too stressful -- I'm still recovering from Isner vs Mahut.

Is there such a thing as excessive chocolate?
Lots of Celtic history stuff would be great. And books. And places. And events. And weird conversations you have with Write Fantastic peeps.

Yes, all of the above.

I have the same problem. I don't want to only post about forthcoming stuff/my books. Or only write additional posts about writing. But I have such a hard time coming up with other subjects, or thinking people really want to know my opinion. I admire bloggers who can write an interesting post almost every day.

One's own life is always mundane, because one is living it, including the not-so-brilliant parts.

Other people's lives are much more interesting, particularly when related by people who have a facility with words.

I don't think I've read a boring article from either of you, so please, just write what you are passionate about.

Messy Celtic history stuff (and even non-messy Celtic history stuff), random writing-related thoughts on all sorts of stuff - plotting, character, worldbuilding etc. The art, science and social significance of skirts.

[identity profile] klwilliams.livejournal.com 2010-06-25 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I like messy Celtic history.

Celtic history!

I love hearing an expert, almost regardless of their subject of interest. And I find history interesting already. The more detailed the better.

I have the same problem. The only interesting things I can think of to post about cause nasty controversies at least some of the time, and I can't tell the explosives from the "oh, yeah, that" posts.

The writing life does not really produce Exciting Adventures, unless one is a travel writer out cruising for E.A.s

[identity profile] themis1.livejournal.com 2010-06-25 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
You post more frequently than me! Anything that interests you, I guess. BTW, I delved into the garage, but I fear those Trek stories went in the grand clear-out just before we moved from London to Bicester ... had I but known!

Colour me relieved.... (I do still have copies, but they're safely hidden.)

Clothes, history and the history of clothes are all fun. Also writing and cats and weapons and campaign furniture and keeping up with your life. And wardrobe design, for the Ideal System of storage for one's clothes, jewels and weapons (as appropriate).

I do not understand the chocolate obsession either. It's nice, but so is a Victoria Sandwich.

[identity profile] cianthecat.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Lots of good suggestions! I for one would like to hear about your cats. (I just turned 30 and am on my way to being a crazy cat lady...something that my husband didn't forsee when he married me, LOL).
