Three Days Late and a Dollar Short

It seems to be 2010: Happy New Year. 2009 wasn't too bad for me personally, but it was very hard on friends and family, and I hope 2010 it far better for you all.

It's got off to a rocky start here, though. My aunt died this morning. She had been ill for some time and increasingly frail and it was expected. But it's still sad. The marquis has been packed off to LA for the week by his employers, so I am All Alone for the week. Oh, and Ish has been in another fight and is on antibiotics again and was thus shut in for several days.
He does not appreciate this.
So far he has pee'd on:
the carpet (several times)
the kitchen windowsill
the wall in the hall
two duvets
the wireless router (it survived unharmed).
He is not a popular cat right now.

Ish doesn't see why he's in trouble. His take is that we are tormenting him. But two duvets was a bit much (one of these incidents involved jumping into my lap and them piddling).

I'm sorry to hear about your aunt - I know it was expected, but it is saddening. My aunt died just around this time last year, and I have been wearing some of her jumpers and remembering her.

And best wishes for Ish's recovery - both from the fight and the behaviour.

As for Ish - tell me about it! Both Flash and Quillan are far from adverse to making their disapproval known in this fashion, though they don't do it on duvets, and even Ross has been known... The girls are just sick over everything.

I'm sorry--one of my remaining great-aunts died just before New Year's Day, and while it was a release for her, we shall miss her a great deal. A death at he holidays is hard, but there's never a good time, really.

Poor Ish! And poor you, having to deal with the outpourings (I typed poutpourings there, which seems a curiously fitting typo) of his annoyance, on top of the rest of it.
