Onwards once more

Grass King continues to move forwards with speeds more often associated with glaciers. A mere 545 words so far, but we have achieved mud. Also tentacles.
I am blaming [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel for the latter. He put the idea in my head.
They're mud tentacles. I suspect the mud is left over from [livejournal.com profile] maeve_the_red's editing process on her Consorts of Heaven. If anyone else adds mud, we'll have a movement (the New Mired? Mud-dane fantasy?).

Oooh, tentacles. I'm hoping I'll find some eldritch or chthonic horrors in my WiP soon, muddy or otherwise.

Excellent. We have Movement!

I definitely like The New Mired.

I like it so well, I am now thinking about how to add mud.

It seems to just get in somehow. Mine is black and smelly and sticky and, well, tentacular. (I sometimes think this book is having me on. I mean, we've already had giant beetles. And now tentacles....)

mud or not, tentacles are always a good thing. Don't forget to make all the buildings in Grass King non-Euclidean, though.

Oh, they are. They're something between a really huge seventeenth century royal complex (Versailles with all its subordinate buildings), the Alhambra and every university library I know (including the underground and hidden bits).

I knew there was something buzzing (or squirming) in my head.

It was Robyn Hitchcock.

"Everything that you rely on
Tentacles and blood and iron
Pillows that you want to cry on
Promises that you get by on
Life is all I own ..."

That fits all too well.

I vote for the New Mired. Hmm, there's always plenty of mud in my books, but no tentacles as yet -- though in the New Project . . . hmmm.

We need a logo. Or a t-shirt or some such.

Ah, so that's where all the surplus mud from 'Consorts' ended up. Glad to hear you're putting it to good use.
