* Grab the nearest book.
* Open the book to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST

'Puis, surpris de son interet pour les affaires, ils ne negligent pas ses avis, les ecoutant avec bienveillance.' ('Then, surprised by his interest in [political] business, they [the royal council]did not disregard his opinions, listening to them with kindness.' -- Solnon is writing about the reaction to the then 14 year-old Henri by the council ruling on behalf of his brother Charles IX.)

(It happened to be a biography of Henri III [king of France 1574-1589] by Jean-Francois Solnon. Yes, I know. Such is my desk.)

The closest three books are entirely in chinese characters, so I can't do it from them.

I'll have to cheat and do the only non-chinese book within reach.
