There was my supervisor who told me that women were genetically unable to be competent in math - and couldn't understand why it wasn't intuitively obvious to me that this was true. And couldn't understand why I was annoyed. (though women of course get 'upset' not annoyed or even Freya forbid justifiably angry!)
