I don't have complete stats, but I suspect DAW Books (caveat: my publisher) publishes more women writers than men. Looking at a list of new releases from November 2014 to May 2015 from them, I get 58% women writers vs. 42% male (assuming my attribution of gender-to-name -- and the list I was using -- is correct). Does that qualify as "just happens to publish more women writers?"
