This is something that I have not experienced before, and I am realizing how much it feeds my soul: I did not know how alone I felt, fighting this fight, until people like Keri stood up and said "I am tired of this! Who's with me?" It may be long distance, but oh, it helps so much.

There are myriad issues in the Spiritual/Pagan communities (which I will not get into) but it seems the dismissal of elders and elder experiences are less of an issue. Perhaps that feeds into the respect for older women, I do not know. I only know that my biggest issue with the pagan festivals has never been feeling ignored, belittled, or having my problems dismissed.
And oh yes. I am on the other side: I ask for help! And the women I talk to seem stunned that a "new" author would ask questions and actually listen! (We will not get into the mansplaining I have dealt with, because that's another issue entirely.) It makes me angry that they've been so dismissed that it's become shocking to have someone behave differently.
