Absolutely. A hundred plus years ago I'd probably have done what my great grandmother did and borne child after child to a domineering man, becoming thoroughly embittered in the process and taking it out on my daughters. And that's without polio, cholera and all the delights of back in the day. Even with all the stuff that happens, this is a good age for Western women.
