I think I may have mis-interpreted 'a right to a history', I didn't mean it as an 'exclusive' right to a history. I don't believe anybody should be restricted in what they can or cannot write about (I do believe an outsider's perspective can be useful in showing us facets we don't see in ourselves), but respect should definitely be part of the equation, as well as anybody's right to say: 'Hey, it isn't like that, you got this wrong!'.
