R.I.P. Bert Jansch

Sad news, the death today of Bert Jansch: I saw him play in early August this year at the Cambridge Folk Festival. Pentangle are one of those groups who changed British music, and they have a special place in my heart as a band who I associate with my student days and my friend A in particular. He'll be missed.

Yes, that was very sad news. Both G and I loved Pentangle and have a couple of their LPs.

Sad news indeed. I remember Pentangle fondly, also from my college years, and I still have those vinyl LPs.

I only learned of this just now, from LJ. And yes, music that's been with me all my adult life (and slightly before!) The 'Bert Jansch' LP was one of the first I bought... A gap in the firmament.
