Things your cats don't tell you.

Given that the weather today has been quite pleasant, I was somewhat surprised to find Hours indoors and sitting on the sitting room windowsill when I came back from visiting ms_cataclysm at around 2pm. 'Oh well,' I thought, 'maybe he likes the sun but thinks it's a bit cold out,; before giving him some fuss and heading off to do stuff. The sitting room futon, on which I leant to do this, made a faintly odd noise, which I put down to Mysterious Things Wood Does.
Fast forward till around 6 pm, when I noticed Horus -- who was still in -- behaving oddly around said futon. I went and investigated in case there was about to be an outbreak of Annoying Mooncat (a game the boys love, but Moon, quite reasonably, objects to). The futon again made an odd noise. A noise that sounded, to be honest, rather like a baritone pigeon balancing on a punctured whoopee cushion. Further investigation revealed, crouching under it, a very very annoyed grey squirrel. Much removing of cats and opening of French windows ensued, until the squirrel made its way to freedom (via behind the bookcase and under the television) with much chittering and more whoopee cushion noises. It didn't seem to be injured, just extremely put out.
Horus, meanwhile, is wondering where his squirrel has gone...
