Philippe Noiret

Reading the obituary today of the French actor Michel Serrault, I discovered that Philippe Noiret (La Fille de d'Artagnan, Cinema Paradiso) died last November (http://film.guardian.co.uk/news/story/0,,1956662,00.html) and somehow I ahd not heard. I find this curiously upsetting. For years, Noiret's name on a film has, to me, symbolised class and intelligence. I wish had I been paying more attention. I'll miss him.
